Testimonials

Going into my late 40s, I was very frustrated with my weight and fitness level. I went to the gym every day yet wasn’t making any progress toward my goals. At the end of January almost 4 years ago, I asked the woman at the front desk of the gym for the name of the best trainer she knew—not the one that new client openings, the best. She wrote down Brian’s name on a piece of paper and I called that day. I decided I would train twice a week until I lost the weight, then go down to once a week to maintain. However, I met my goal—even exceeded it—and I found that the support, advice and guidance provided by Brian was invaluable and I work my best to make twice a week because it’s the one thing I do for myself that means the most. He’s not a trainer, he’s a coach, mentor and friend. I have never worked out so hard, thought I couldn’t do one more rep when Brian tells me “oh yes you can”, or been more proud of myself when I do it. I have body confidence, emotional resilience and energy that I never had before training with Crombie Fitness. I can’t tell you how many people tell me I look great, and can’t believe I’m 52. Thank you, Brian for changing my body and pushing me hard every day to keep with it. You’re the best, and I mean it.

Being new to the Crombie Fitness roster last year, I can easily say joining Brian’s program was one of the best things- if not the best thing- I did for myself (and my health) last year. Brian provides a program that is real, realistic and real fun! He has a unique ability to connect with each client on a personal level and tailor training sessions that highlight that client’s strengths while simultaneously challenging clients in areas that need improvement. Importantly, Brian’s training regimen extends beyond the gym and he supplies his clients with personalized eating plans that are created around individualized needs and personal goals.

When I first started training with Brian, he promised the opportunity to be in the best shape of my life and he did not disappoint. Each training session is a new opportunity to raise the bar of personal excellence and to strive for improvement. Each time I walk into the gym to train, I know I am going to be coached and inspired to live a stronger, longer and healthier life.

It was 10 years ago that I made a choice in my life to be healthy both mentally and physically. It was then that I decided to hire a coach. A coach that I made 2 appointments a week and paid for, to train and teach me to eat right. No diets. I was told that I had to meal prep and be committed to a new lifestyle. This coach has pushed me to no limit, showed me what mindset can do when you focus, and taught me how your breathing helps with fitness training. I do not weigh myself, I know how my clothes are supposed to fit. It was at that time in my life that I focused on myself and when I was told by an ex-boyfriend that I could never compete in a fitness competition, I told my coach to get me ready to be on stage. For two years I trained hard and cried a lot because it WAS hard. My coach, Brian Crombie of Crombie Fitness took a photo of me and the jeans that I was wearing and fit tight almost 10 years ago and Brian said to me today as I was showing off that he remembered these jeans. I went from a size 8, to size 4 and have lost over 20lbs in the past 10 years. It does not seem like a lot, yet I am healthy and I feel great (BTW, these jeans do fall down without a belt). Thank you, my friend, coach, counselor and biggest supporter. You have not only helped me with my fitness training, yet you have helped me mentally over the past 11 months since that horrible day in March when I called you to tell you about my car accident. Your words to me. “We can do it Mel” and you know what, you were 110% right. #focus #mindset #10years #coach #trainer

The best thing I ever did for myself was to start working out with Brian Crombie. He has helped me to change the way I feel about my body and has built my self-confidence substantially. To say that he takes me out of my comfort zone on a regular basis and helps me to achieve things in my personal and professional life that I never thought were possible is an understatement.

I began training with Brian when I was 9 years post-partum. I was turning 47 and really didn’t feel attractive or myself anymore. I had tried working out on my own and was going to classes but never could get back to the way I felt in my 20’s. Within 6 weeks I had lost 25 pounds and 3 sizes and am now in the best shape of my life.

I didn’t realize that Brian would become one of my closest friends. I can trust him with the most intimate details of my life and have the confidence that our conversations are confidential. I am grateful every day for the things I have learned about myself through working with him.

He is truly the best trainer. He believes in you and the best and scariest part of training with him is that you never know what to expect. Every single session is different from the last and will test you mentally and physically. “It’s all mental”, you will hear him say.

Four years ago, after knee repair surgery and the doctor telling me I had stage three arthritis in both knees (and he would see me for replacements soon), a friend suggested I try a workout plan with Brian and “see how it goes”.

Although I had been an active runner for 40 years and had done some respectable 1/2 marathons in my 50s—my core strength and balance were terrible.
Although I could hardly move after most of the first few weeks of sessions with Brian, he was patient and encouraging. Slowly but surely, we worked to build some core strength and get the muscles around my knees rebuilt.

Brian is an outstanding trainer. The combination of smart workouts with personal encouragement (and tough love as needed) is just what I needed. I am grateful for his determination with me and hope to be able to keep at “it” well into my late 60s and hopefully 70s.

I have been a client of Brian’s for almost four years. Over that period of time, Brian has helped me get healthier and stronger, and has made it fun and fresh every step of the way.

Brian has transformed my body a few different times. We first developed strength, then focused on aerobic capacity, and have since settled in between the two. When I first met him, my goal was to lose 10 lbs. Little did I know that I could be fitter and stronger 15 lbs heavier than when I started!

I’m almost 58 and I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in my life. Brian can adjust to what your goals are—he isn’t “one size fits all”. He consistently challenges you—you will never work harder by yourself than you do with him. Further, he will always keep it fresh—he still keeps coming up with workout routines that we have never done before.

More than anything, I consider Brian to be a good friend. He gets to know you, cares about you, and devotes himself to you. There are a lot of personal trainers out there; there are very few Brians.

Ahhh Brian Crombie, my trainer, counselor, friend, confidante, motivator, accountability holder. Day in and day out, I am challenged to bring the best me to our workouts. I can honestly say that I am encouraged, pushed and celebrated as we progress through each day’s activities. I feel strong, in the best shape ever, educated in physical fitness, weight training, cardio and healthy eating habits. I owe a great deal of this to Brian for always being by my side. The discipline he instills and the knowledge he passes on allows each of us to move forward with a positive can-do attitude in order to make us the best we can be, both physically and mentally. He believes in me! He believes in each of us! I am so proud to be part of the Crombie Fitness team as it truly is “a family!” Brian is my Rock Star both in and out of the gym. I can’t imagine where I’d be without him!
